I started out as a furniture designer-maker in Oxford. Happening to live within 20 minutes of the renowned Rycotewood Furniture Centre, I was urged at 16 to enrol on their National Diploma course by my then D.T. teacher. Within weeks I realised that I had found my calling. I followed up this course with their BA degree in Furniture Design & Make.

I graduated 5 years later with a First Class (Hons) and their Laurie Turner award for outsanding achievement in design. I had been trained to a high standard in both the modern and traditional methods of craftsmanship for freestanding furniture.
